Five-Minute Chocolate Cake

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350F (180C) and prepare your chosen baking pan(s) by greasing and flouring them.

  2. Combine flour, granulated sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large mixing bowl.

  3. Add eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, then beat with an electric mixer on medium speed for two minutes.

  4. Stir in boiling water until the batter is thoroughly blended.

  5. Pour the thin batter into the prepared pan(s).

  6. Bake the cake for approximately 35 minutes for a rectangular pan, or 30 to 35 minutes for layer pans, ensuring a wooden pick inserted in the center comes out clean.

  7. Cool the cake in the pan for 10 minutes before removing it to a rack to cool completely.

  8. Frost the cake as desired.
