Finnish Tiger Cake

A classic Finnish marbled cake, known as Tiikerikkakku, features distinct orange and chocolate layers.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F and grease/flour a Bundt pan.

  2. Beat butter and sugar until creamy. Sift flour and baking powder, then alternately add eggs and flour to the batter until combined, stirring in vanilla.

  3. Separate 1/3 of the batter; mix cocoa powder and 1/2 orange juice into it.

  4. Stir orange zest and the remaining 1/2 orange juice into the larger portion of batter.

  5. Spread 1/3 of the orange batter into the pan, then dribble half of the chocolate batter over it. Repeat layers, finishing with orange batter.

  6. Bake for 1 hour. Cool in the pan on a wire rack for 20 minutes, then invert to cool completely.
