Famous Carnation Fudge

Instructions

  1. In a heavy-duty saucepan, combine butter, evaporated milk, sugar, and salt.

  2. Bring the mixture to a full rolling boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.

  3. Boil, stirring constantly, for 4 to 5 minutes.

  4. Remove the saucepan from heat.

  5. Stir in marshmallows, chocolate chips, vanilla, and optional nuts.

  6. Vigorously stir for 1 minute or until the marshmallows are fully melted.

  7. Pour the fudge into an 8-inch square baking pan lined with foil.

  8. Chill the fudge until it is firm.
