Instructions

  1. Start boiling equal amounts of vinegar and water in a saucepan; stir in sugar until dissolved.

  2. Cool the solution, then stir in the fish sauce.

  3. Place vegetables in a jar and pour the cooled pickling solution over them, ensuring full submersion.

  4. Seal the jar and refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.

  5. Serve the vegetables with or without the liquid, optionally tossing with lettuce leaves just before serving.
