Instructions

  1. Start boiling salted water for spaghetti or linguine.

  2. Cook pasta according to package directions, then drain.

  3. While pasta cooks, brown ham in 2 teaspoons of olive oil or butter over medium heat.

  4. In a food processor, combine peas, basil, Parmesan cheese, garlic, and optional walnuts.

  5. Process, gradually adding olive oil, until finely chopped.

  6. Season pesto with salt and pepper to taste.

  7. Toss hot pasta with ham and pesto.

  8. Serve garnished with extra Parmesan cheese.
