Instructions

  1. Heat wine, tea, orange, and lemon juice in a large pot over medium heat, stirring until combined; ensure it does not boil.

  2. Transfer the heated liquid to a heat-proof punch bowl.

  3. If preparing a flamed punch: Load a metal ladle with most of the 2 cups of sugar, adding any remainder to the punch bowl. Saturate the ladle's sugar with rum.

  4. Carefully ignite the ladle's contents, then pour the flaming mixture into the punch. Stir to extinguish flames.

  5. Add the remaining rum to the punch and stir thoroughly until all sugar is dissolved.

  6. If preparing a no-flame punch: Add all rum and 2 cups of sugar directly into the heated liquid in the punch bowl, stirring until fully dissolved.

  7. Incorporate seasonal fruits like orange slices and cranberries.

  8. Serve warm.
