Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit.
-
In a large bowl, combine ground beef with half the chopped garlic and onion, 1 cup matzo meal, 1 egg, salt, and pepper.
-
Spread the beef mixture onto greased aluminum foil, forming a flat rectangle.
-
In a separate bowl, mix ground chicken or turkey with the remaining garlic, onion, matzo meal, 1 egg, salt, pepper, and mustard. Spread this mixture over the beef rectangle.
-
Arrange mushrooms across the meat mixture's width, then roll it up jelly-roll style, leaving the foil behind.
-
Place the meat roll onto thawed puff pastry. Encase the roll in the pastry, trim, and seal edges with water. Brush the pastry with a beaten egg.
-
Transfer the prepared meatloaf to a foil-lined baking sheet. Bake covered with foil for 30 minutes.
-
Uncover the meatloaf and continue baking for another 30 minutes, or until the pastry turns golden brown.
-
Serve hot or at room temperature.
