Easy Thai Style Fried Calamari

Instructions

  1. Heat at least 1-inch of oil in a frying pan over high to medium-high heat until hot enough to sizzle a test calamari ring.

  2. Combine semolina flour, salt, and spices in a shallow bowl.

  3. Slice squid tubes into 1/2-inch wide rings.

  4. Coat each calamari ring thoroughly with the flour mixture.

  5. Fry calamari in batches for about 1 minute per side until light golden brown, lowering heat to medium if needed and avoiding overcooking.

  6. Remove fried calamari and drain on a clean towel or paper towel.

  7. Serve immediately with Thai sweet chili sauce.
