Easy Sweet and Sour Brisket

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 F (165 C).

  2. Place brisket in a roasting pan. In a bowl, combine sauerkraut, canned tomatoes, and brown sugar; pour over brisket. Cover and marinate in the refrigerator overnight, avoiding direct contact between covering and meat.

  3. Remove brisket from refrigerator. Place the roasting pan in the preheated oven. Bake for 3 hours or until internal temperature reaches 190 F.

  4. Remove from oven. When cool, transfer to a cutting board and thinly slice against the grain.

  5. Serve with pan sauce. For advance preparation, return sliced brisket to the pan, cover, refrigerate, and reheat covered before serving.
