Instructions

  1. Soak jarred grape leaves in cold water for 2 to 3 hours, then rinse and drain thoroughly.

  2. Combine all remaining ingredients in a mixing bowl and mix well by hand.

  3. Place 1 to 2 tablespoons of the mixture onto each grape leaf, stem-side down, then fold the sides and roll upward.

  4. Arrange the rolled grape leaves in a pan and place a heavy plate on top to keep them in place.

  5. Fill the pan with water and bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and simmer for 30 to 45 minutes until the rice and meat are cooked.
