Instructions

Start boiling water for egg noodles or rice if serving with them.

In a large skillet over medium heat, warm oil and butter, then cook onions and mushrooms until translucent and golden brown.

Transfer the cooked vegetables to a plate.

In the same skillet, brown ground beef until no longer pink, breaking it apart.

Stir in flour and continue cooking for 2 minutes.

Add broth and salt, stirring to combine, then mix in sour cream.

Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of ketchup and heat the mixture until hot, but do not boil.
