Easy Stovetop Ground Beef Stroganoff

Instructions

  1. Start boiling water for egg noodles or rice if serving with them.

  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, warm oil and butter, then cook onions and mushrooms until translucent and golden brown.

  3. Transfer the cooked vegetables to a plate.

  4. In the same skillet, brown ground beef until no longer pink, breaking it apart.

  5. Stir in flour and continue cooking for 2 minutes.

  6. Add broth and salt, stirring to combine, then mix in sour cream.

  7. Stir in 1-2 tablespoons of ketchup and heat the mixture until hot, but do not boil.

  8. Serve the stroganoff over hot buttered egg noodles or cooked rice.
