Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 350 F.
-
Line a 10-inch tart pan with crust, allowing it to settle, or lay the crust on a baking sheet for a free-form galette; lightly prick the crust with a fork.
-
Halve or quarter pears, core, peel, and slice them evenly.
-
Toss pear slices with 1/3 cup sugar and lemon juice in a large bowl.
-
Arrange the pear slices on the prepared crust, reserving 4 to 5 slices, then crimp or roll the crust edges.
-
Bake for approximately 50 minutes, or until the crust is browned and the pears are tender.
-
While the tart bakes, combine the remaining 1/3 cup sugar, reserved pear slices, and 1/3 cup water in a small saucepan; bring to a boil, then simmer for about 10 minutes until the syrup thickens.
-
Once the tart cools, brush it generously with the prepared syrup.
-
Serve warm or at room temperature.
