Easy Mashed Rutabagas

Instructions

  1. Start boiling water in a large saucepan.

  2. Peel and chunk 2 to 3 pounds of rutabagas, then add them to the saucepan with 1 teaspoon of salt, ensuring they are covered with water.

  3. Boil the rutabagas, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 25 to 30 minutes until tender.

  4. Drain the rutabagas and allow them to dry.

  5. Mash the rutabagas with 1/3 cup butter, the remaining 1 teaspoon of salt, and 1/2 teaspoon black pepper.
