Easy Macaroni and Cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F.

  2. Boil water, cook macaroni for 5 minutes, then drain.

  3. Combine drained macaroni and grated cheddar cheese in a 2-quart baking pan.

  4. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Whisk in flour to form a paste, then slowly whisk in milk until smooth. Bring to a boil and simmer for 1 minute to thicken.

  5. Pour thickened milk into the macaroni mixture and stir thoroughly. Optionally, sprinkle with toppings.

  6. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes. Allow to cool for 10 minutes before serving.
