Easy Gingerbread House for Kids Recipe

Kid-friendly gingerbread houses are easily created using no-bake toaster pastries, simplifying construction and eliminating the need for baking or rolling.

Instructions

  1. Prepare royal icing.

  2. Transfer icing to a pastry bag or a resealable bag with a cut tip.

  3. Trim the top corners off two brown toaster pastries to form the roof line for the house sides.

  4. Apply icing to the base and secure one trimmed toaster pastry vertically.

  5. Pipe icing at a right angle on the base next to the first pastry.

  6. Attach an uncut toaster pastry horizontally, forming a corner, and secure the walls with icing; use supports if needed.

  7. Allow icing to dry for at least one hour.

  8. Repeat the assembly process for the remaining house sides.

  9. Pipe icing onto the cut corners of the house sides, then attach one frosted toaster pastry as a roof panel.

  10. Attach the second frosted toaster pastry to complete the roof, adding icing between panels if needed.

  11. Decorate as desired with candies, gel icing for features, and flaked coconut for snow.
