Instructions

  1. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, then brown pork chops seasoned with pepper for 5 to 7 minutes total, turning once.

  2. Transfer the browned chops to a slow cooker.

  3. Combine soup mix, broth, and water in a bowl, then pour this mixture over the chops.

  4. Cover and cook on low for 6 to 7 hours, or on high for 3 to 3 1/2 hours.

  5. Remove pork chops to a serving plate and keep them warm.

  6. Strain the slow cooker juices, skim off fat, and transfer to a saucepan.

  7. Bring the juices to a simmer, then stir in the cornstarch mixture and cook until thickened; stir in butter until melted.

  8. Pour the prepared sauce over the chops and serve.
