Instructions

Start boiling 2 inches of salted water in a large saucepan.

Break cauliflower into bite-sized florets.

Place florets in a steamer basket over boiling water, cover, and steam for 4 to 5 minutes until tender.

Drain cauliflower and transfer to a serving bowl.

Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.

Whisk flour into melted butter until smooth, then cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly.

Gradually add milk, continuing to cook and stir until the sauce is smooth and thickened.
