Easy Chinese Beef Stir-Fry

An easy Chinese beef stir-fry is prepared quickly using pre-cut frozen vegetables and store-bought sauce.

Instructions

  1. Slice steak into thin strips, 1/8 inch thick and 1.5-2 inches long; optionally, cut into thinner pieces.

  2. Measure the stir-fry sauce and chop the garlic.

  3. Heat a wok or heavy skillet over medium-high heat until almost smoking, then add 2 tablespoons of oil to coat the pan.

  4. Stir-fry half the chopped garlic for 10 seconds.

  5. Add the beef to the pan, brown briefly, then stir-fry until almost cooked through; remove and drain.

  6. Heat the remaining 1 tablespoon of oil in the same pan, then add the rest of the garlic and stir-fry for 10 seconds.

  7. Add the frozen vegetables; stir-fry for 3 to 5 minutes or as directed on the package, adding a splash of water if they dry out.

  8. Return the beef to the pan, pour in the stir-fry sauce, and bring to a boil; stir-fry for 1 to 2 minutes to combine.

  9. Serve hot over cooked rice.
