Easy Chicken Parmesan

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 F and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.

  2. Pound 4 boneless chicken breasts to approximately 1/2 inch thickness.

  3. In separate bowls, whisk 1 large egg with 1/2 cup milk and place 1/2 cup seasoned breadcrumbs.

  4. Dip each chicken breast in the egg mixture, then coat evenly with breadcrumbs.

  5. Heat 1 inch of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.

  6. Brown chicken in the hot oil for 3 to 4 minutes per side until golden.

  7. Pour 1/3 of the pasta sauce into the prepared baking dish, arrange the browned chicken on top, and cover with 7 mozzarella slices.

  8. Pour the remaining sauce over the chicken and cheese, then sprinkle with 1/2 cup grated Parmesan and scatter the remaining torn mozzarella.

  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes, or until bubbly.

  10. Simultaneously, cook 8 ounces spaghetti or linguine in boiling salted water as directed on the package; drain thoroughly.
