Easy Cheesy Baked Ziti Recipe

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 F.

  2. Cook ziti pasta according to package directions until al dente, then drain.

  3. In a large bowl, combine the beaten egg, ricotta cheese, garlic powder, basil (if using), and 1 cup of mozzarella, mixing thoroughly.

  4. Stir the cooked pasta and 2 cups of spaghetti sauce into the ricotta mixture.

  5. Pour 1 cup of spaghetti sauce into a 9x13-inch pan.

  6. Layer the ziti mixture over the sauce, then top with the remaining sauce, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese.

  7. Cover the pan with foil and bake for 20 minutes.

  8. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 20 minutes until golden brown and bubbly; let the pasta rest for 10 minutes before serving.
