Easy Butternut Squash Casserole With Maple and Cinnamon

Preheat the oven to 350 F.

Peel, deseed, and cut butternut squash into 1 1/2-inch pieces. Steam until tender (15-20 minutes), then cool slightly.

Butter a 1 1/2-quart casserole dish.

Beat the cooled squash with maple syrup, 1/4 cup granulated sugar, egg, milk, 2 tablespoons melted butter, cinnamon, and a dash of salt until well blended.

Transfer the squash mixture to the prepared casserole dish.

Combine the topping ingredients and sprinkle over the squash mixture.
