Instructions

  1. Start boiling 1/2 inch of lightly salted water in a large skillet or Dutch oven while you rinse and cut 1 medium head of cabbage into 6 wedges.

  2. Add cabbage wedges and 1/2 teaspoon salt to the boiling water; simmer, covered, for 5 to 7 minutes until softened.

  3. Turn the cabbage, then continue simmering for another 5 minutes until tender.
