Easy Beer Braised Cabbage

Instructions

  1. Cook bacon in a large pot over medium heat until crisp; remove to a paper towel-lined plate.

  2. Drain all but one tablespoon of fat from the pot. Add onion and sauté for 5 minutes until golden.

  3. Stir in cabbage and toss for 3 to 4 minutes until it begins to wilt and combine with the onions.

  4. Pour in beer, bring to a simmer over medium-high heat, then partially cover and reduce heat to medium-low. Simmer for about 30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until cabbage is tender and most liquid has evaporated.

  5. Crumble the reserved bacon and stir it into the cabbage; serve hot.
