Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 F (200 C).

  2. Soak fish in lemon juice for 30 minutes, then drain thoroughly.

  3. Spray a shallow glass baking dish with nonstick spray and place the fish, skin-side down.

  4. Spread mayonnaise generously over the fish, then sprinkle with salt, pepper, and optional garlic or soup powder.

  5. Cover the dish with foil and refrigerate for 2 hours.

  6. Bake the covered fish for 30 minutes.

  7. Uncover and bake or broil for an additional 10 minutes, until browned.
