Easy Baked Ham With Pineapple

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 325 F.

  2. Slice the ham 1/2-inch thick, cutting almost to the bottom, then tie with kitchen twine to hold slices together.

  3. Drain pineapple, reserving 1/4 cup syrup.

  4. Combine reserved pineapple syrup, chili sauce, brown sugar, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, and chili powder in a bowl; set aside.

  5. Place ham on a rack in a roasting pan.

  6. Arrange pineapple slices around the ham, securing with toothpicks.

  7. Pour the reserved sauce over the ham.

  8. Bake for 1.5 hours, basting frequently with sauce.

  9. Transfer ham to a platter, remove twine, and rearrange pineapple; cover loosely with foil to keep warm.

  10. Combine pan juices in a 2-cup measuring cup, adding hot water if needed to make 1 1/4 cups total; transfer to a saucepan.

  11. Mix cornstarch and cold water until smooth.

  12. Add cornstarch mixture to the saucepan; cook over medium heat, stirring until thickened and bubbly.

  13. Drizzle some sauce over the ham and pineapple, serving remaining sauce on the side.
