Easy Bacon-Wrapped Scallops

A super-easy appetizer, bacon-wrapped scallops offer a perfect balance of smoky, salty bacon and sweet scallops, cooked quickly under the broiler.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the broiler.

  2. Partially cook 12 bacon slices until flexible, then set aside.

  3. Rinse and pat dry 24 sea scallops, removing any tough muscle.

  4. Cut each bacon slice in half, wrap around a scallop, and secure with a toothpick.

  5. Sprinkle scallops with seasoned pepper.

  6. Place scallops on a broiling pan.

  7. Broil 4-5 inches from heat for 8-10 minutes, turning once or twice, until scallops are opaque and bacon is crisp.

  8. Serve immediately; remove toothpicks if not serving as an appetizer.
