Easy Almond Scone With Cinnamon and Vanilla

Preheat the oven to 400 F.

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, cinnamon, and salt.

Cut in butter with a pastry cutter until the mixture resembles coarse cornmeal.

Stir in almonds, almond extract, and vanilla extract.

Add just enough buttermilk or heavy cream, with minimal stirring, to make the dough stick together.

Turn dough onto a heavily floured surface and lightly knead until smooth.

Gently pat dough into one or two 1-inch thick discs.

Cut each disc into 6 to 8 pieces.

Transfer scones to a buttered or parchment-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 to 20 minutes, until lightly golden.
