Easy 4-Ingredient Baked Brisket

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 450 F and line a baking pan with foil.

  2. Create a bed of sliced sweet onion in the pan, then pour red wine over the onions.

  3. Season the meaty side of the brisket with salt and pepper, place it fat-side up on the onions, then sprinkle the fat side with dry onion soup mix and more pepper.

  4. Bake uncovered for 15 minutes, then remove, cover tightly with foil, reduce oven temperature to 325 F, and return to bake for an additional 1.5 hours.

  5. Remove from oven, let rest covered for 15 minutes, then uncover and rest another 15 minutes before slicing against the grain to serve.
