Easter Rice Krispies Treats

Instructions

  1. Prepare 16 (2.5-inch) cupcake tins by coating them with cooking spray.

  2. Tint coconut green by stirring with water and green food coloring, then spread on a baking sheet to dry.

  3. Melt butter and marshmallows in a large saucepan over low heat until smooth, or microwave for 3 minutes, stirring after 2 minutes.

  4. Remove from heat, then add crispy rice cereal and stir until thoroughly coated.

  5. Press the warm mixture into the prepared cupcake tins with lightly greased hands, shaping each into a nest.

  6. Cool completely, then remove from pans and fill with the tinted coconut, small marshmallows, jelly beans, or chocolate eggs.
