Dutch Chipolatapudding (Fruit and Maraschino Dessert) Recipe

Instructions

  1. Whisk eggs, yolks, and half of the sugar in a double boiler until thickened.

  2. Soak sheet gelatin in cold water, then warm until dissolved. Add dissolved gelatin, rum, and liqueur to the egg mixture; cool.

  3. Beat cream with remaining sugar until soft peaks form. Fold the cream into the cooled egg mixture.

  4. Fold fruit and amaretti biscuits into the mixture. Spoon into a wet pudding mold and refrigerate for one day.

  5. To unmold, briefly immerse the mold in hot water, invert onto a platter, then remove the mold.

  6. Decorate with fresh fruit and whipped cream if desired.
