Instructions

Preheat the oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.

Cream sugar and butter with an electric mixer until light and fluffy.

Beat in eggs one at a time, then mix in anise extract and ground seeds.

Gradually add the dry flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined, then stir in almonds by hand.

Divide the dough in half, shape each half into a log, and place them on the prepared baking sheet.

Bake for 30 minutes until golden brown, then cool the logs completely for about 25 minutes.

Slice the cooled logs diagonally. Remove the parchment paper and place the slices cut-side down on the baking sheet.

Bake for 12 minutes, turn, and bake for another 8 minutes or until lightly colored.
