Deviled Crab

A baked deviled crab dish, ideal as an appetizer or entree, combines seasoned crab meat with a buttery breadcrumb topping.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 F.

  2. In a bowl, whisk mayonnaise with onions, green peppers, parsley, dry mustard, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, cayenne, lemon juice, salt, and pepper; let sit for 15 minutes.

  3. Fold in the crab meat.

  4. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a skillet, add breadcrumbs, and cook until golden; transfer to a bowl and cool.

  5. Arrange crab shells or ramekins on a baking sheet.

  6. Divide the crab mixture among the containers, mounding it in the center.

  7. Evenly top each serving with the buttery breadcrumbs.

  8. Bake on the top rack for 10 to 15 minutes until bubbly and lightly browned.

  9. Serve hot with parsley sprigs and lemon wedges.
