Instructions

  1. Set the dehydrator to 130 F.

  2. Combine water and vinegar or lemon juice in a large bowl.

  3. Peel apples if desired.

  4. Slice apples to approximately 1/3-inch thickness.

  5. Submerge apple slices in the vinegar solution immediately to prevent browning.

  6. Drain apples thoroughly using a colander or by pressing between dishtowels.

  7. Arrange drained apple slices on dehydrator trays, ensuring no pieces touch.

  8. Dry apples for 10-12 hours until they reach a pliable or crispy texture, adjusting time as needed.

  9. Turn off the dehydrator, remove trays, and cool slices completely at room temperature.

  10. Store cooled, conditioned apple slices in tightly sealed jars.
