Deep Fried Corn Dogs

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or heavy saucepan to 360 F.

  2. Whisk together flour, cornmeal, sugar, baking powder, salt, and chili powder in a mixing bowl.

  3. In a separate bowl, beat eggs with milk and 1/4 cup oil, then stir into the dry ingredients until the batter is smooth.

  4. Insert a wooden skewer into each hot dog.

  5. Dip each hot dog into the batter, ensuring it's thoroughly and evenly coated.

  6. Fry corn dogs in batches for 3 to 5 minutes, until golden brown.

  7. Drain the fried corn dogs on paper towels.
