Deep Fried Clams

A simple recipe prepares restaurant-style fried clams using either a deep-fryer or a Dutch oven.

Instructions

  1. Preheat the deep-fryer to 375 F or heat 3 inches of peanut oil in a Dutch oven.

  2. Combine cracker crumbs, poultry seasoning, salt, chipotle pepper, garlic powder, oregano, and dill weed in a large zip-top bag.

  3. Dip clams in beaten eggs, then transfer them to the crumb mixture bag; shake to coat thoroughly.

  4. Fry coated clams in batches for about 30 seconds until golden brown.

  5. Drain fried clams on paper towels and serve hot.
