Instructions
-
Freeze unwrapped candy bars on a parchment-lined sheet for at least two hours until solid.
-
Pour 3 inches of vegetable oil into a heavy-bottomed pan, insert a thermometer, and heat to 375 F.
-
Place 1/2 cup of flour in a shallow bowl; in another bowl, combine 1 cup flour with baking soda and salt.
-
Whisk milk, vinegar, and oil, then add this mixture to the 1 cup flour mixture until the batter is smooth.
-
Dredge a frozen candy bar in the 1/2 cup flour, then fully coat it in the prepared batter.
-
Carefully place the battered candy bar into the 375 F oil, pressing it down gently if it floats.
-
Fry until golden brown, then remove with a slotted spoon to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
-
Repeat with remaining candy bars, monitoring and adjusting oil temperature as needed.
-
Allow the fried candy bars to cool slightly, then dust with confectioners' sugar and serve warm.
