Deep Dish Skillet Pizza
A simplified deep dish pizza can be quickly prepared in a skillet using premade bread dough.

Instructions

Preheat the oven to its maximum temperature.

Roll out the premade dough into a round larger than the skillet.

Heat a 9- or 12-inch cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat until hot but not smoking.

Sprinkle the hot skillet with cornmeal and flour, then carefully place the dough round into the pan, pressing it evenly up the sides.

Brush the dough with olive oil as it cooks.

Once the dough bubbles, season with salt and pepper, then top with marinara sauce, spreading it to the edges.

Cover with 2 to 3 cups of grated mozzarella cheese.

Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 10 to 15 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden.

Optionally, brush the crust with a mix of honey and chile flakes, or olive oil.
