Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a double boiler.

  2. Stir in sweetened condensed milk, then add powdered sugar and vanilla, mixing until smooth.

  3. Stir in coconut.

  4. Transfer mixture to a bowl, cool, cover, and refrigerate overnight or for at least 12 hours.

  5. Line a baking pan; with wet, cold hands, roll mixture into small walnut-sized balls and place on the pan.

  6. Break and melt chocolate bark in a double boiler.

  7. Dip each bonbon into the melted chocolate using a skewer, returning it to the baking sheet.

  8. Refrigerate coated bonbons until set, then store in an airtight container, refrigerating if warm or on the counter if cool.
