Date Apple Quick Bread
A moist quick bread features warm spices like cinnamon and nutmeg, combined with chopped dates and apples.

Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F.

Grease and flour a 9x5x3-inch loaf pan.

Peel, core, and finely chop apples to yield 1 1/2 cups.

In a large bowl, combine flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.

In a separate bowl, cream butter with sugar for 5 minutes.

Add beaten eggs to the creamed butter and sugar mixture.

Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients and milk: first add half of the flour mixture, mix for 3 minutes, then add the milk. Next, add the remaining flour mixture and mix for 8 minutes, scraping the bowl as needed.

Fold in the dates and chopped apple using a spatula.

Spread the batter into the prepared loaf pan.

Bake for 1 hour 5 minutes to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until a wooden pick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Cool the bread in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a rack to cool completely before slicing.
