Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and lightly oil a baking sheet or pizza pan.

  2. In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar, then let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes.

  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together gluten-free flour, sea salt, and baking powder.

  4. Add the flour mixture and olive oil to the yeast mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms; add up to 1/4 cup extra water if necessary.

  5. Press the dough onto the prepared pan, flattening it to 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness.

  6. Bake the crust for 7 to 10 minutes, or until cracks begin to form on the surface.

  7. Remove from the oven, spread pizza sauce onto the crust leaving a 1/2-inch margin.

  8. Generously top with dairy-free cheese and any desired vegetables; brush the crust with olive oil for a darker finish.

  9. Return the pizza to the oven and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until the crust appears dry.

  10. Allow the pizza to cool slightly before serving hot.
