Instructions
-
Preheat the oven to 375 F and lightly oil a baking sheet or pizza pan.
-
In a large bowl, combine warm water, yeast, and sugar, then let the mixture rest for about 5 minutes.
-
In a separate bowl, whisk together gluten-free flour, sea salt, and baking powder.
-
Add the flour mixture and olive oil to the yeast mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms; add up to 1/4 cup extra water if necessary.
-
Press the dough onto the prepared pan, flattening it to 1/8 to 1/4-inch thickness.
-
Bake the crust for 7 to 10 minutes, or until cracks begin to form on the surface.
-
Remove from the oven, spread pizza sauce onto the crust leaving a 1/2-inch margin.
-
Generously top with dairy-free cheese and any desired vegetables; brush the crust with olive oil for a darker finish.
-
Return the pizza to the oven and bake for 20 to 30 minutes, until the crust appears dry.
-
Allow the pizza to cool slightly before serving hot.
