Dairy-Free Basic Quiche

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 F and grease a 10-inch pie plate with dairy-free margarine.

  2. Roll out the pie dough to 1/8-inch thickness, fit it into the pie plate, trim excess, and crimp the edges. Refrigerate the prepared crust for 15 minutes.

  3. Using an electric mixer, beat one egg until pale and frothy, then add flour and beat to combine.

  4. Add the remaining eggs and beat for 3 minutes until the mixture increases in volume and becomes light and frothy.

  5. Gradually incorporate almond milk, nutritional yeast, and salt, then beat for an additional 2 minutes.

  6. Pour the egg mixture into the prepared crust and bake for 10 minutes.

  7. Reduce the oven temperature to 325 F and continue baking for 35 to 40 minutes, or until the quiche is firm with a slight jiggle.

  8. Cool the quiche on a wire rack for 15 to 20 minutes until fully set.
