Instructions

  1. Combine brown sugar, honey, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, garlic, ginger, salt, and cayenne pepper in a bowl.

  2. Coat the country-style ribs thoroughly with the prepared sauce.

  3. Slice an onion thinly and layer it in the slow cooker, then add the coated ribs and sauce.

  4. Cook on low for 5 to 7 hours until the pork is tender.

  5. Transfer the ribs to a platter and tent with foil to keep them warm.

  6. Strain the slow cooker liquids into a saucepan and bring them to a boil.

  7. Whisk cornstarch with water to create a slurry, then stir it into the boiling sauce and cook until thickened.

  8. Drizzle the thickened sauce over the ribs and garnish with toasted sesame seeds and chopped green onion.
