Crockpot Cider Beef Stew

A classic slow-cooked beef stew prepared with stew beef, potatoes, carrots, and apple cider.

Instructions

  1. Layer carrots, potatoes, and apples in the slow cooker, then add the stew beef. Season with salt, thyme, and chopped onion, then pour apple cider over the ingredients.

  2. Cover and cook on low heat for 8 to 10 hours.

  3. To thicken, mix 1.5 to 2 tablespoons flour with 2 tablespoons cold water. Stir this into the cooked stew, then cook on high in the slow cooker until thickened, or transfer the stew to a stockpot and thicken over medium heat.
