Crock Pot Lamb Shanks With Red Wine
A comforting dish features tender lamb shanks slowly braised with carrots, onions, red wine, and fresh herbs in a rich broth.

In a large skillet, heat oil and brown lamb shanks seasoned with salt and pepper on all sides for 6-8 minutes.

Transfer the browned lamb to a slow cooker. In the same skillet, cook onion, carrots, and celery until the onion softens.

Add the cooked vegetables, garlic, wine, chicken stock, and herb sprigs to the slow cooker with the lamb.

Cover and cook on high for 1 hour, then reduce heat to low and cook for 7-9 hours until the lamb is very tender. Alternatively, cook on high for 5-6 hours.
