Crock Pot Chicken Breasts in Creamy Creole Sauce

Instructions

  1. Melt butter in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Add onions, bell pepper, celery, and bacon; cook, stirring, for 4 minutes.

  2. Stir in flour and cook for 3 minutes. Gradually add chicken broth and cook until thickened.

  3. Mix in tomato paste and Creole seasoning.

  4. Place chicken breasts in a slow cooker. Pour the prepared sauce over them.

  5. Cover and cook on low for 5 hours, stirring halfway through.

  6. Stir in cream or milk 15 to 20 minutes before serving.

  7. Serve chicken and sauce with hot pasta or rice.
