Instructions

  1. Brown beef cubes in oil or bacon drippings if desired.

  2. Combine beef, onion soup mix, bouillon, water, potatoes, carrots, celery, tomatoes, garlic, and pepper in a slow cooker.

  3. Cover and cook on low for 8 to 10 hours, or until the beef and vegetables are tender.

  4. Taste and adjust seasonings as needed.

  5. Prepare a slurry by mixing cornstarch with cold water.

  6. Stir the slurry into the slow cooker, turn heat to high, and cook until thickened.
