Croatian Plum Dumplings Recipe - Knedle s Sljivama

Instructions

Start boiling a large pot of salted water.

In a large bowl, combine potatoes, eggs, and salt, then add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.

Insert a sugar cube into each pitted plum.

With floured hands, flatten a dough portion, place a plum in the center, and seal the dough completely around it.

Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for 20 minutes.

While dumplings cook, melt butter in a skillet, add breadcrumbs, and brown.

Remove cooked dumplings with a slotted spoon to a colander.

Transfer dumplings to a serving platter, pour buttered breadcrumbs over them, and dust with sugar and cinnamon as desired.
