Instructions

  1. Start boiling a large pot of salted water.

  2. In a large bowl, combine potatoes, eggs, and salt, then add flour and mix until a soft dough forms.

  3. Insert a sugar cube into each pitted plum.

  4. With floured hands, flatten a dough portion, place a plum in the center, and seal the dough completely around it.

  5. Carefully drop the dumplings into the boiling water and cook for 20 minutes.

  6. While dumplings cook, melt butter in a skillet, add breadcrumbs, and brown.

  7. Remove cooked dumplings with a slotted spoon to a colander.

  8. Transfer dumplings to a serving platter, pour buttered breadcrumbs over them, and dust with sugar and cinnamon as desired.
