Creamy Shrimp and Crab Seafood Bisque Recipe

Instructions

  1. Melt 3 tablespoons butter in a Dutch oven over medium-low heat; add 2 tablespoons green onion and 2 tablespoons celery. Sauté for 2 minutes until tender.

  2. Stir in 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour and cook for 2 minutes, ensuring it's well incorporated.

  3. Warm 2.5 cups milk in a separate saucepan over medium heat.

  4. Slowly whisk the warmed milk into the butter and vegetable mixture. Continue cooking, stirring, until thickened, about 3 minutes.

  5. Stir in 0.5 teaspoon black pepper, 1 tablespoon tomato paste, and 1 cup heavy cream.

  6. Optionally, puree the soup in a blender or food processor, then return it to the saucepan.

  7. Add 8 ounces cooked shrimp, 8 ounces crabmeat, and 2 tablespoons sherry wine. Bring to a simmer.

  8. Serve hot, garnished with 3 tablespoons parsley, cilantro, or green onion tops.
