Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 3500F (1800C) and butter a 2 1/2-quart baking dish.

  2. Cook the onion in melted butter until tender; then stir in celery salt, pepper, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, parsley, and crackers.

  3. Layer one-third of the cracker mixture, then half of the oysters, into the prepared dish. Repeat this layering, finishing with the remaining cracker mixture on top.

  4. Whisk together the oyster liquor, cream, and milk.

  5. Pour the cream mixture over the layered casserole.

  6. Bake for 35 to 45 minutes, or until the oyster edges curl.
