Creamy Pasta and Tomato Sauce

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.

  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, warm butter and olive oil, then add onion and cook until tender and slightly browned (5-6 minutes).

  3. Add pasta sauce, rinsed jar water, and canned tomatoes; simmer, stirring frequently.

  4. Cook spaghetti in the boiling water until al dente.

  5. A few minutes before the spaghetti finishes, whisk cream cheese into the simmering sauce until melted and creamy.

  6. Drain the cooked pasta and add it directly to the sauce in the skillet.

  7. Toss to coat, season with salt and pepper, and serve.
